JOHN PETERS - DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY

Currently named by Kodak as one of the top 100 Cinematographers in the World, John Peters began his career in the UK as a documentary lighting and news cameraman, shooting for the BBC’s flagship documentary series Panorama, On The Record, The Late Show and CBS News.

Working extensively in Northern and Southern Africa, the Middle East, Japan and Northern Ireland, John filmed the attack at Milltown Cemetery in Belfast, the fall of the Berlin Wall, lived with freedom fighters in Eritrea, shot the first pictures of the US sixth fleet entering the Strait of Hormuz during the Iran/Iraq war and hunted Rhino poachers in Zimbabwe.

Returning to the UK, John shot a series of Commercials in the UK and Europe, Music Videos for a host of artists including David Bowie and The Cure, and his first feature film "Mad Dogs and Englishmen", before leaving for America.

Since living in the USA, John has shot numerous independent films and television shows and been nominated for an ASC award for 'Time Of Your Life'.

When not wrestling with heavy machinery, John also enjoys experimenting with his heavily customised Canon 5DMkIIs, affording the great intuitive flexibility he learnt in his early career, whilst maintaining an incredible raw contemporary quality & style.
